This is the first of a series of intros to our wonderful cast – Mhairi Steel from Whitburn, West Lothian.
With her excellent voice, acting and dancing skills, Mhairi is one of a strong supporting cast for our musical extravaganza. She has acted in amdram since she was 9 years old, performing roles such as Rumpleteazer in Cats, Bet in Oliver and Urleen in Footloose as well as holding her own with such West End stars as John Owen Jones and Faye Tozer in Movies to Musicals.
‘I’m excited to be part of this Fringe production. The music bounces around in my head every day, especially ‘Sailing to America’ and ‘I Will Be your Friend.’ I love the retelling of the Burke and Hare story this way – giving a little bit extra to the tale with some fun nods to the modern era along the way.’
Now working as a children’s nurse in Glasgow, Mhairi is soon to have one of her own to look after – but, hopefully, not during the show in August!
